Being in the business for several years, our client had the matured business processes and excellent business model. EXISTING SYSTEM OVERVIEW: Client had a marketing website in place, which was initiated as a small project and later grew into a large B-to-C portal. With the existing site there were several issues, the major was lack   of e-commerce support and online registration for the user accounts, websites and other services that the client provided.   THE PROBLEM:   The client initiated to modernize and reface its current site and system using an in-house team. This effort grew into a 6 month long project with no end results to show for the efforts put forth. As the business expertise was not in application design & development, the team could not provide the desired output and ultimately affecting the business. Following were some major listed obstacles:   Project management was not appropriate with the lack of in-house expertise in web application development Slow development processes as the database planning was poor and coding performed was not up to the mark Lack of testing expertise left the site with several errors causing the loss of several potential clients Not enough in-house expertise to integrate the website with several other packages like OPENSRS Poor design lead to unmanageable code, hard to update and no UAD processes implementation   BENCHMARK SOLUTION:   After taking a close look at the existing site, BENCHMARK suggested to separate the reusable code and re-develop the portal from the scratch. BENCHMARK defined and documented the requirements document in details and put a freeze on requirements after which implemented the UAD processes till the end of application delivery We provided with benchmarked application architecture which provided the extensibility, manageability and modularity to the entire project Developed a retail store for products with online domain registration purchase capabilities Custom control panel for users to manage their won sites Back-office process portal Ability to create the custom affiliate plans, track their referrals commissions Ability to add add-on options to any of the products and pricing Ability to customize the own server with all additional components and place and order Easy to use navigation and GUI The developed application improved overall image of the client having an excellent looking bug free portal.
