Background
- Siren Alerts is an online paging system to be adopted by businesses in the service industry or any business with an organized customer flow
- The idea is for the business to communicate the amount of time required to complete the service to the customer and facilitate the transparency of that information.
- The client requested an app for both the iPhone and Android platforms
- The entire portal needed to be built from the ground up using the latest technologies and a scalable framework for future enhancements
Scope
- Create a text message notification system that will take the place of traditional paging systems utilizing emerging SMS technologies.
- Provide the facility to send text messages directly to the customer’s cell phone.
- Provide real time information and allow customers to see their place in line.
- Create an organized customer flow from start to finish
- Help bridge the gap between business and consumer while they wait on line to receive a particular service
Solution
- A server side application was created along with a mobile application for the IPhone and Android platforms.
- Businesses can record their customers’ information on the waiting list web application such as name, phone number, time of entry/appointment/reservation, estimated time of delivery/completion, store unlimited names on a waiting list, provide continuous, custom real-time updates and much more.
- Both the iPhone and Android apps allow customers to see their position on the waiting list in real-time.
- Businesses can send custom SMS text message when service is available, or during another designated time (e.g., 2 customers before, 5-10 min. before)
- Businesses are able to send custom SMS text messages and status updates regarding the completion of a service to their customers.
